Faculty of Life Sciences, IAMR, Ghaziabad in association with Yakult Danone India Pvt. 

Ltd., Sonipat organised a one day ‘Webinar-cum-Virtual Industrial Visit’. With a motive of Daily Pio : Healthy Jio; Yakult setup one and only  production unit in India in 2005 and launched probiotic fermented milk drink. Webinar was specially designed for the microbiology and biotechnology students focusing on Probiotics and its importance in human health. The students were introduced to the world of probiotics and the journey of Yakult since beginning. 

The second stage was more interesting and first-hand experience for all the participants as it was as virtual factory tour, where Yakult’s production process was shown to the students virtually. The manufacturing process of Yakult is highly mechanised with no human touch. The plant has a capacity of manufacturing 1 million bottles per day. The interaction session was also conducted by Mr. Tushar Kumar (Executive-Public Relations) in which the students asked question related to production, microbial strain, storage, shelf life, importance etc., which were satisfactorily answered by the Mr. Tushar.

The event was attended by more than 150 students along with the faculty members.
